How?
Not finding an edit option anywhere on my pages.
Thanks in advance for nearly any response.
-
Hmmm you should have the option!! (On the upper right (MODIFY))
See my picture :)

Nope.
I have "Quote"... that's all.
I'm running a MacBook Pro w/ macOS Sierra v10.12.5.
Browser is Safari v10.1.1
In theory, none of those things should be an issue for forum operation - just filling in the blanks for ya
-
There's only the 'quote' button present with Safari on PC too. Same goes for Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
Are we all going to have to downgrade to Bambo's IE2? Either that or just don't make mistakes. :D
-
Hehe I think MyIE2 will work with ANY IE version Nelly but im not sure so you could maybe..... (I have IE6)
-
Click the modify icon (see attached pic)
-
sh@do, I only have the quote button there, nothing else. Could it possibly be a permissions thing?
-
Look at the picture I attached previously. Look at the position where the icon I am referring to is located. It is located at the center right edge of your post box. Look at the attachment I put on this reply for even better clarity.
-
To try and clarify further ... Look at the right side of the page. You should see "report to moderator" and your ip address (ex: 61.42.84.125). Directly above your ip address is a icon. If you mouse over it, it will say "Modify Message"
-
Thats interesting Sh@do... On IE6 (MyIE2) it doesnt say anything when I hover over MODIFY...
Isnt it interesting how different browsers react?
-
I did not say anything about hovering over "Modify". Please re-read my post.
-
Nope, nothing there, other than 'Quote', as in my screen shot.
-
Sorry about the size.
-
Sorry Sh@do,I misunderstood.......
Nelly what if you choose a different theme??? -- Im wondering if that might work?

I can't see any way of changing the theme......Don't tell me you have a button for it? >:( lol.
I had a look at the online manual, and it talks about Admins deciding if certain members types are allowed to edit their own posts, and for how long after posting (ie permissions).
It's no big deal, I'm sure there are far more pressing matters to be dealt with, before something like this. :)
-
Nothing here remotely looking like that.
I get the line: "Report to moderator" then (some tiny weird icon that has absolutely no function) and then the word "Logged" where you say an IP addy would be.
Mmmm... bugs! ;D
-
... and i was wrong about "logged" - that's only when looking at someone else's post.
Had i been able to modify my previous post, i wouldn't have had to make a new one to mention this.
My brain hurts now. Take it out!
-
So... no fix for this?

So... no fix for this?
Looks like it's only Admins and Mods who can edit.
Edit: Yes it's fixed now. Thanks Adam.
-
This should now be fixed. As guessed, SMF's default permissions do not allow modification of posts for anyone below Moderator. The permission has been added - Just need verification now.
-
Very strange permissions on SMF isnt there Adam?? -- Kinda confusing!
Im glad things are better now Nelly :)
